Copper Acetate Anhydrous
Copper Acetate Anhydrous
Synonyms: Copper(II) acetate anhydrous; Cupric acetate anhydrous;
CAS No.: 19955-76-1
Formula: Cu(CH3COO)2
M.W.: 181.63
Feature
Dark green crystal or crystalline powder with acetic acid odor, soluble in water and alcohols, m.p.: 115℃.
Application
As quick dry agent of paints, pharmaceuticals, pesticide auxiliaries, enamel pigment, bactericides and chemical reagent etc.
1. Organic synthesis: It is used as a catalyst or reagent in several organic reactions, including the production of vinyl acetate, which is an important precursor for the manufacture of polyvinyl acetate (PVA) and other polymers.
2. Pigments: Copper acetate anhydrous is used as a source of copper ions in the preparation of pigments, such as verdigris, which is a greenish-blue pigment.
3. Wood preservative: It is used as a wood preservative to protect against fungal decay and wood-boring insects. Copper acetate anhydrous can be applied to wood surfaces or used in pressure treatment processes.
4. Electroplating: It can be employed in electroplating baths for the deposition of copper coatings onto various substrates.
5. Analytical chemistry: Copper acetate anhydrous can be used in analytical methods to determine the presence of certain compounds or elements. It can also be used as a standard or reference material.
Storage
Stored in cool and dry warehouse; Keep away from flame and heat.
