Black or brownish black amorphous crystalline powder, monoclinic crystal, Specific Wt.: 6.315 M.P.: 14460C, insoluble in water and ethanol, soluble in diluted acid, ammonia water, ammonium chloride, sodium hydroxide and potassuim cyanide.
Appearance
Cupric oxide can be used as a pigment, as a fungicide, and as an anti-fouling agent for marine paint. Cupric oxide is also used as a catalyst. However, exposure to this type of copper oxide can be dangerous.
